Rapid City Regional Hospital administrators say a new building opening in a few months will combine critical services.
The 36,000 square foot office building is located across 5th Street from the main hospital, just south of Cathedral Drive.
The $9.7 million project began last fall.
The new building will house the hospital's corporate offices, fundraising, public relations, and legal services.
Administrators say the project has been in the works for a number of years, and the main reason for the building is to turn leased space into owned space.
"The genesis of the building has been the amount of space that we're leasing in the community and some of our critical services being distributed throughout the community. So we think that this will form more of a synergy among those critical services," said Tim Sughrue, CEO of Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Construction managers say the new building will be operational by mid-December.
