CEO of Coldwell Banker comes to Rapid City to talk housing

Posted:

Nationally home prices are down as much as 36%. But what about locally? Jim Gillespie, CEO of Coldwell Banker says the Rapid City housing market didn't take as bad of a hit as the rest of country. In Rapid City prices only dipped one year out of the last seven.

"Rapid City has out performed the National Market and probably not a lot of people realize that. This year prices are up five, six, seven percent from last year. Prices were up from the previous year, so you have had two years in a row of pretty nice price appreciation," says Gillespie.

He also says real estate has led the country out of every economic downturn since World War II.
