Fifteen professors and faculty members from the School of Mines are in the running to get pied in the face.
The mechanical engineering department is raising money for the emergency student fund, and their hoping it's as easy as pie.
Professors and faculty that volunteered have a bucket with their picture on it, and whoever has the most money in their bucket by September 21st gets pied.
Every $20 the entire campaign raises equals one pie in the winners face. Associate director Lisa Carlson says it's all in good fun. "I think the students are voting for their favorite professor or staff member," said Carlson. "So it's kind of a popularity contest, unfortunately I'm losing right now… I don't have very much money in my bucket. So I think it's going to be a point of pride for whoever wins."
The winner will get pied at the school of mines picnic on the 21st. Carlson invites anyone to donate.
