The construction on Rapid City's Jackson Boulevard now moves
into its second phase.
Kevin Howland, the Engineering Supervisor for the project
says workers are temporary widening the east bound lanes.
That work is scheduled to be completed by mid to late November.
Weather permitting, work is expected to pick up again in January when west bound lanes close.
That's when Howland says the real work will begin, "Next year's work is everywhere, storm sewer, water,
and sanitary sewer, building fire lanes, plus bike lanes, new sidewalk, also
some bridge rehabilitation work."
Howland says the second phase is around 10%
complete.
The Jackson Boulevard project is scheduled to be fully
complete by June of 2014.
