As election season kicks into
full swing, a different kind of campaign takes place at one KOTA Territory
venue.
Tuesday morning, Allegiant Airlines
hosted its Vote for Vacation campaign at Main Street Square.
The company started off its tour in the shadow of Mount Rushmore to celebrate freedoms, including the right to travel.
More than 100 people voted for their favorite vacation destination.
Some received a voucher equal
to the taxes and fees for a round-trip domestic flight; while others will win
two round-trip tickets to the destination of their choice.
But the reason some showed up
was the grand prize:
"That would be nice to win that
four years of free flights. We go to Phoenix
because I got a son that lives there. And then if we want to go gamble,
obviously we go to Las Vegas," said John Weisbeck
a voter from Piedmont.
The bus tour will make 76 more stops across the country.
