Monday was the last day of the season for a popular family attraction in KOTA Territory, and they'll likely end the season about $40,000 short of their goal.
Storybook Island saw roughly 3,000 fewer guests this summer.
And while the park is free, donations averaged about 11 cents per guest.
That's not nearly enough to cover the $400,000 in yearly operating expenses and maintenance costs.
It won't mean the park will cost next year, it just means management has to prioritize what they replace.
Storybook Island will hold a fundraiser called Once upon a Festival this Saturday and Sunday, September 8 and 9, at a cost of $2 per person.
