Minnesota student receives lengthy probation for child porn

A KOTA Territory judge threw the book at a 20 year old former School of Mines Student found guilty of possessing child pornography.

Vincent Taffe was sentenced to 180 days in prison and 10 years probation.

Taffe, plead guilty to one count of possessing child pornography in December and admitted to the judge that he downloaded an explicit video involving children.

His lengthy probation includes:

- Intensive sex offender treatment

- A ban from using the Internet or a cell phone that has Internet

- And no contact with minors -among many other restrictions.

The judge told Taffe that even a small violation to any of the restrictions and she will impose the maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
