Seven senior citizens survive I-90 rollover

Posted:

Seven senior citizens survived a high speed rollover accident that temporarily closed a portion Interstate - 90 Wednesday.

A Ford F-150 truck was headed east, near exit 52, on I-90 when it blew a tire and rolled twice.  Six people in the vehicle had seatbelts on, including the driver 59-year-old Rita Smith Rolth.  They received only minor injuries. The seventh passenger in the truck did not have a seatbelt on and was ejected from the vehicle. That person received serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken via lifeflight to Rapid City Regional Hospital.

South Dakota Highway Patrol Lieutenant David Berkley says the truck was only made to seat six people.  No citations were issued as a result of the crash.
