Elephants make a big impression at the fair this year

Two 4–ton elephants make their debut at the Central State's Fair this year.

Dixie and Rosie, two Asian Elephants are adding to the fair fun, giving kids and adults rides.

They elephants and their owners made the trek to Rapid City from California for the first time this year.

Dixie and Rosie's owners says it was worth trip, they're a big hit!

"We've never really ventured this far in a long while, its great to be here, we've had great weather very receptive, people love them. So we're enjoying it as much as everyone else is."

Trainer David Smith says the elephants are part of an endangered species.
