A decorated Iraq War veteran accused of making threats of shooting people at the Spearfish Walmart has pled not guilty.
26 year old Elliott Bintliff is facing three counts of simple assault and one stalking charge, all class one misdemeanors.
Despite being denied bail last week, Bintliff was not present for today's arraignment due to his commitment at the VA hospital at Fort Meade for evaluation.
His pleas of not guilty were entered by his attorney Eric Whitcher.
Bintliff is asking to be placed in a residential facility for PTSD treatment.
His next court appearance is scheduled for September 4th in Deadwood.
If convicted he could receive a penalty of up to one year in county jail and a $2000 fine on each charge.
