
QUICK RESPONSES KEEP FIRES SMALL
Rapid City, SD – A quick response from firefighters helped to suppress and contain several small fires Tuesday.
Dalton
Federal, State and local resources responded, including air attack. The Dalton Fire is located north of Dalton Lake. The fire was originally reported by a Life Flight helicopter and located by helicopter 7TA who sized up the fire and requested additional resources

Medicine Creek
The Medicine Creek Fire occurred northeast of Vivian on the Fort Pierre National Grasslands.
Size: 18 acres Cause: Lightning Containment: Contained
Pasture 43 and Table Road Fires
Both on the Nebraska National Forest 9 miles south of Chadron and both .1 acre.
Bush, Haiar and Boundary Gulch
Each less than an acre, about 4 miles southeast of Beulah, Wyoming.
Fire officials urge the public to use caution in the woods.

Rapid City, SD – The Brush Creek fire was ignited Monday by careless use of fire, according to a news release from Great Plains Fire Information.
It burned 2.25 acres of Black Hills National Forest land. Resources from local, state and federal agencies along with aerial assets were required to bring the fire under control yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters were able to get the upper hand on the fire quickly and encircle it with hoselines. Helicopter 7TA and 1KA were used to drop water to assist the firefighters on the ground. Smoke from the fire could be seen from Rapid City.
