Sturgis Rally goers on the hunt for Gunner's

Posted:

A popular Sturgis staple has changed locations, causing many rally goers to wonder what happened to the infamous bar.

If you've made your way down Main Street lately you've probably noticed what used to be Gunner's is now a tattoo shop. The bar was sold last December and was acquired by the Side Hack Saloon located on Lazelle Street.

Owner Marsha Smidt says although the move has caused confusion to some business has been good, so far, since the Side Hack has incorporated Gunner's.

"It's gradually gotten better, especially for rally this year," said Marsha Smidt, owner of Side Hack Saloon. "We're really excited to have a full liquor bar because that's one thing we've been missing all these years. So it's been working out really great."

Smidt says she anticipates good sales during the rally because street traffic has been really busy.
