Some riders prefer to fly to Rally

Posted:

With an international audience arriving for the Rally, some find flying is more convenient than riding into the Black Hills.

Rapid city Regional Airport has a large parking lot allocated primarily for semi-trucks.

A large number of riders have their motorcycle shipped and fly into rapid city rather than dealing with high gas prices and days of road travel.

New York's Christopher Day decided to fly into the airport and pick up his ride at the lot, rather than driving nearly 1800 miles to the Black Hills.

"By doing the truck with our friend there, it cost 800

dollars a piece to truck back. This is the way to do it,

this way we fly out and get to spend the ten days here

rather than six days of it on the road," said Day.
