Everest restaurant brings exotic cuisine to main street

Its might seem like something you would find in Denver or Sioux Falls, but an exotic cuisine hits Rapid City's main street this summer.

The Everest restaurant on West Main Street offers a unique blend of Indian and Nepalese food.

Opening its doors just two weeks ago, owners say they've seen a steady stream of customers eager for more authentic type of Indian cuisine.

Founded by a Nepalese doctor working in a Rapid City hospital, owners say the restaurant offers exotic flavors infusions at an affordable price.

"It uses the same raw materials [as Indian food], vegetables, lamb, chicken, but its cooked in a milder way. That's why I said its Indian cuisine cooked by a Nepalese chef," said owner Pushpa Poudel.

The restaurant features a lunch buffet, carry out and delivery services.
