Rapid City man convicted on meth charges

A 41-year old Rapid City man was convicted by a jury Wednesday of possession and distribution of methamphetamine.

Derek Chad Vice bought Meth from an undercover informant in a Rapid City neighborhood March of last year. The case was investigated by the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team, and Vice was prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

Possession of a controlled substance is a class four felony, and if he's convicted on other habitual offender charges, Vice could face a up to 50 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
