U.S. House Candidate is anxious to debate

Posted:

Democrat Matt Varilek says it's time to debate. The Yankton native is challenging incumbent Representative Kristie Noem (R) to a series of twelve debates.

Varilek says South Dakotans need to know where both candidates stand on issues like the future of medicare, the farm bill and committee attendance. "Being accessible and being face to face with voters is important and I think Congresswoman Noem has taken some criticism about not doing very many town hall meetings," Varilek said.

Representative Noem has accepted at least one debate invitation. The two will face off at Dakotafest in Mitchell later this month.
