A registered sex offender from New Underwood made his first court appearance on child rape charges Thursday.
Dale Davis, 48, was arrested Wednesday morning at his rural Meade county home.
He's charged with two counts of 4th degree rape and two counts of sexual contact with a 14 year old child in the alternative.
Each count carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
Meade county State's Attorney Kevin Krull says the alleged rape happened at his home on 30th of July and in Pennington county, on two separate occasions.
Davis was convicted in 1999 in Arkansas of sexual abuse and was recently convicted of failing to register as a sex offender.
He's being held on $50,000 bond in the Meade county jail.
