Posted:

The investigation is ongoing into the plane crash near Edgemont that killed four military crew members at the beginning of July, and details are still scarce.

In an e-mail responding to questions about the two crew members who survived, a military spokesman declined to release any new information until the investigation is completed.

Follow-up questions about how long the investigation will take and what specifically they're looking into were not immediately answered.

Four out of six Air Force crew members died when their C-130 cargo plane crashed fighting the White Draw fire near Edgemont on July 1. The plane went down after dropping a load of fire retardant.

The C-130 was specially equipped to fight wild fires.  Its crew members were from the North Carolina National Guard.
