Class of '77 takes on Habitat for Humanity Project

"'77 takes the lead... We're the class that will succeed."

That's the motto of a group of volunteers celebrating their 35th class reunion by giving back to the community.

They partnered with the Habitat for Humanity to build a home in only one weeks time.

Project '77 Co–Chair Sue Jarvis says they raised $50,000 dollars and had many of the materials donated in order to make the project happen.

Yesterday the roof was completed leaving electrical work, dry walling, and siding for today. Sue says she can't imagine a better way to spend her class reunion.

"We're just ecstatic to do it, and everybody is having a great time, and they are all glad we did it, they want to do it again. I want to say thank you to everybody who has helped us. I want to say a special thank you to my classmates and for coming so far we've got people from all over the country here," said Jarvis.

Sue says the home will be unveiled Sunday to a working mother of 5 from rapid city.
