KOTA Territory has a new tour in town

Posted:

Men of history are perched on nearly every corner of downtown Rapid City, but now there is a walking tour of the statues that may reveal a little dirt on president's pasts.

Holly Kennedy says dates and facts can often be boring, but her draw to history and theater has her hitting the streets to educate and entertain. She calls it the "what the history books didn't tell you" tour.

Kennedy takes people from president to president asking trivia questions and revealing fun facts such as, which president outlawed broccoli or who was rumored to meet with aliens. She even knows facts about president's dogs.

Kennedy says she has always worked for herself and never had a dull job. "I have been Miss Boze the Clown," said Kennedy.  "I did singing telegrams and birthday parties and fairs and things like that, but honestly I'm just getting a little too old to do the clown things anymore and this is just something that peaked my interest and clowns are out and history is in so here I am."

All tours start at President Eisenhower and cost $15 for adults, $10for kids, and anyone under the age of six is free.
