Rapid City adds a new Urgent Care Clinic

Posted:

Black Hills Urgent Care, a division of Black Hills Surgical Hospital, opened its doors Monday.

The state-of-the-art facility boasts a friendly environment geared to make patients more comfortable.

They took a new twist on registering, as well. You can visit BHUCare.com to get more information or register with the clinic. You can also see how long the wait is. Once you enter, receptionists are at kiosks ready to help.

The waiting room is somewhat like a hotel lobby and is equipped for adult and child comfort. There are iPads set up with games and a refreshment bar. Wi-fi is available, too.

Each exam room has a full screen educational board that allows patients to check symptoms, look at side effects or learn how to prevent diseases. The board also allows you to check the latest headlines while they wait.

Project manager, Lesley Wilkinson says this new approach to medicine offers a more patient friendly vibe.
"This urgent care will help Rapid City by offering extended hours for urgent care," says Wilkinson. "And, it's in a beautiful, really warm environment with a friendly and caring staff and we're going to offer wonderful and exceptional hours for their convenience."

Black Hills Urgent Care is located in the Baken Park Shopping Center. The hours are Tuesday-Saturday 7:30am-9:00pm, Sunday 8:00am-8:00pm, and Monday 6:30am-9:00pm.
