Opening night approaches for Drive Inn movie theater

Posted:

a new way to enjoy cinema is coming to Hermosa, SD.

Roy's Black Hills Twin Drive Inn movie theater is set to open its doors on July 30th.

The drive inn, just off highway 79 near the Flying J truck stop, has two screens (45 feet tall by 80 feet wide), as well as concessions and a secured play area for kids.

Owners estimate the capacity for each viewing lot is 300 cars. Tickets for adults are priced at $8 and the first showing will include family friendly features like 'Brave' and ‘The Avengers'. ‘The Dark Knight Rises' set to screen on August 3rd for two weeks.

Owners say they're anticipating a warm reception on opening night, as many are nostalgic for the drive inn experience.

"This will be the first one in Western South Dakota. There's 7 in East River...we need something out here!" said owner Roy Reitenbaugh.

The drive inn is currently hiring staff in anticipation of its big opening day. Please contact Correna at 605-890-1647.
