Antiques Roadshow makes its way to Rapid City

Posted:

A popular TV show draws a crowd of over 5,000 people to Rapid City Saturday.

Antiques Roadshow made its first ever appearance in South Dakota to do appraisals.

Rapid City is one of six stops on their summer tour, where they will get enough footage for three shows from each location.

Marsha Bemko a producer for the show says they have seen many rare items, and a lot more people than expected.

"Over 7600 people wanted to come for the 3000 pairs of tickets we gave out. We always count on some people not coming. It's too many people coming. We're going to have a great turn out [Saturday]. I think South Dakota is happy to see us," said Bemko.

Of the thousands of items appraised was a set of Molesworth furniture with a value of over $200,000 at auction.
