Ellsworth Air Force Base Public Affairs released the first pictures of last week's C-130 tanker crash near Edgemont.

The Air Force cargo plane, based in North Carolina, crashed on Sunday, July 1st while fighting the White Draw Fire. The plane had been dropping retardant on the six and a half square-mile fire.

Due to fires burning in the area, the crash site has been inaccessible. Even now that the White Draw Fire has been contained, the U.S. Forest Service will likely continue to restrict access for some time in the future.

Six crew members were on board. Four died. A private memorial service for the airmen is set for Tuesday at the 145th airlift wing in Charlotte, North Carolina.
