Crew continue to fight massive fires near Newcastle, WY & Lame Deer, MT

Oil Creek Fire, between Newcastle and Osage, WY, has burned 58,477 acres. Containment: Estimated at 40%.

Fire managers report good progress so far Wednesday on the western and eastern flanks of the fire line. The night shift will continue to build and improve line alone the north (Skull Creek Rd.) and north east flank of the fire. "This is going to be another critical night" stated Dave Wilson, Operations Chief.

Earlier Wednesday residents of Osage were allowed to return home, but remain on a Level 1 pre-evacuation notice.

The Ash Creek Complex fire, near Lame Deer, Montana is now estimated at 244,500 acres with  50% containment.

Fire managers say the Ash Creek Fire continues to experience active fire behavior, primarily on the northeast, east and southeast flanks of the perimeter.
