Three killed in Hermosa crash


Three people are dead and another is suffering from life-threatening injuries after a crash Friday afternoon at Hermosa.

South Dakota Highway Patrol Captain Kevin Karley said a 2011 GMC pickup towing an RV was traveling north on Hwy 79. A 1997 Buick Park Avenue was attempting to cross Hwy 79 from the Flying J Truck Stop to proceed east onto Hwy 40. The pickup struck the Buick when it failed to yield as it crossed Hwy 79.

Three persons in the Buick were pronounced dead at the scene:

Adrienne White Bull (the driver) of Porcupine
Darwin Two Bulls of Hermosa
Steven White Magpie of Pine Ridge.

Another passenger in the Buick was critically injured:

Harold Bettelyoun of Martin.

The driver and passenger of the pickup (Lawrence and Lynda Menis from Livingston, TX)received minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
