Sheridan church collects supplies for Montana fire victims

Posted:

A Sheridan church group is putting together supplies to take up to Ashland, Mont., evacuees staying in Lame Deer.

The Bethesda Worship Center on Big Horn Avenue is trying to "Stuff the Bus" with food. They're asking community members for non-perishable foods and bottled drinks, but no clothes.

The church did the same thing last year for Montana flood victims, and they managed to pull together a full bus-load.

Organizers hope to do the same before heading north Saturday at noon.

"This is a great giving community, Sheridan is, and so we don't take it on as a church," said pastor Scott Lee. "We do this as a community, and we're just trying to be the wheels to get the stuff up there, just to help the community get it where it needs to go."

Donations will be collected at the Bethesda Worship Center bus parked just off of Big Horn Avenue in Sheridan.
