Dakota Point:

The Dakota Point Fire near Sheridan Lake is now 100% contained.

Fire crews credit the slightly cooler temperatures and successful "back- burn operations". But crews are still working to control the 348 acres involved in the fire.

Sheridan Lake Road, the dam and nearby trails remain closed due to mop-up efforts.  All evacuation warnings have been lifted.

Crow Peak:

Containment is expected on the Crow Peak fire Friday by 6 PM.

Mop-up operations are underway on three sides of the mountain near Spearfish.

The fire has burned 135 acres since Saturday.

Just two crews will be on scene to watch for hot spots starting this weekend.
