Hoppin' Hot Springs underway

Posted:

There is fun in the sun for everyone in this weekend in hot springs. It's the 36th Annual Main Street Arts and Crafts Festival. The public can watch a vendor make what they are selling by hand.

But, that isn't the only thing going on this weekend.

There's a quilt show, a car show, and a parade.

It's something the whole town gets excited about, not just for the fun, but for the crowd it brings in.

"Friday the weather was fantastic, a lot of out of town visitors here that were buying the wares and enjoying the entertainment," said Co-chair of the event Gerald Collogan.

And today the crowd showed up for the Miss South Dakota Pageant.

Tonight Miss South Dakota 2011, Anna Simpson, will pass on the crown.

"They really do care about our communities and what's right for south Dakota. It's outstanding and honestly is mind–blowing for me and the fact that I get to see that in each of these girls I'm excited for whoever wins," said Simpson.

The events continue Sunday.
