Clean up begins after storms rake KOTA Territory

Clean up begins after heavy rain, hail, and lightning pounded parts of KOTA Territory Friday night.

According to storm chasers and spotters, a tornado touched down just a few miles north of Ardmore.

There was some damage left in its wake - snapped power poles, downed tree branches, and damage to some buildings.

A damage survey by the National Weather Service indicates this tornado was an EF-2 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, with winds estimated between 110 and 120 miles per hour.

Besides the tornado, baseball to softball sized hail was reported in the Edgemont area.

There were dozens of other high wind and hail reports from around the area.

Here is a link to the video of the storm taken by professional storm chasers. Do not chase storms, they are extremely dangerous.
