Two-vehicle crash in Rapid City sends two to the hospital

Posted:

A driver, who police say was driving drunk, caused a two-vehicle accident Saturday that sent two of his passengers to the hospital.

Robert Brown, 33, ran a red light at the intersection of Omaha Street and West Boulevard in Rapid City at about 2:45 p.m., said Sergeant Brian Blenner of the Rapid City Police Department.  His Chevy pickup then crashed into a Dodge Ram.

Brown took off on foot toward the Executive Golf Course, Blenner said.  Golfers directed officers to Rapid Creek where police took Brown into custody.

Two of Brown's passengers suffered minor injuries.  No one in the Dodge Ram was injured.

Brown has been charged with DUI, felony hit and run, no insurance, driving with a suspended license, among other charges.
