With Main Street Square complete, fantastic summer weather in and around the Black Hills, and a Thursday evening in June, it's time for another season of Summer Nights.
With Rapid City's Main Street blocked to car traffic beginning at Sixth Street through Seventh Street, this year's Summer Nights promised to be an all inclusive downtown block party showcasing Main Street Square.
In year's past sections of downtown were fractioned off to include a children's area , street vendors, and a beer garden all as separate entities.
Rapid City resident Sandy Shamber liked the new layout of Summer Nights.
"We walked down Main Street here and looked at the other events and what not and there are just as many people here in the Square as there up and down Main Street, so as far as incorporating Main Street, they've just done a wonderful job of that," said Shamber.
