It started in March of 2011 and now it's on its last leg, but to finish the construction on Canyon Lake Dr. there will have to be a detour for traffic.
The detour will start Wednesday and be for east bound traffic only. Canyon Lake Dr. will not be closed and businesses can still be reached.
Perry Van De Steeg of RCS Construction says that because of all the delays in the project already the detour is necessary.
For new business owner, Pat Mexican, the construction has been especially scary, but RCS workers are just as excited for the project to be done.
"It's been a challenge for everyone on this street to tell you the truth. Maybe a little more for me, but I am grateful that the regulars have stuck with us; the new ones have managed to find us," Said Mexican.
"I think if you talk to any of my guys they would tell you they'll be anxious to get off the project. We've been on it for about a year and a half now and anytime you're on a project that long it starts to wear on you and this project it's a good looking project and it'll be a great project for the community when it's done but it has been a trying project for us," said Van De Steeg.
The project was originally estimated to be done June 18th, but Van De Steeg hopes to be finished with the project around the first of July.
