Nine DuPont manufacturing facilities across the United States received the Norfolk Southern transportation 16th annual Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Award

Safety is a top priority at DuPont, and this commitment continues through the transportation supply chain, even after products are manufactured.

Nine DuPont manufacturing facilities across the United States received the Norfolk Southern transportation 16th annual Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Award, which recognizes customers' commitment to the safe transportation of products by rail through safe loading and maintenance of rail cars.

To qualify for the Chemical Safety Excellence Award, DuPont facilities shipped a combined total of more than 3,300 carloads via Norfolk Southern rail lines during the year without incident.

“Transportation safety excellence is the result of collaboration between the shipper and the transportation supplier, and we are proud to be recognized by our partner Norfolk Southern,” said Tim Byrd, director of global logistics for DuPont Sourcing. “Safety is a core value at DuPont and our commitment to safety doesn’t end at the plant gate, it continues through the supply chain.”
