High bond set for attempted murder suspect

Posted:

Bond is set for half a million dollars for a man accused of shooting another man in the head on Saturday.

People close to the family say Christopher Levin, 28, has made it through surgery and the intensive care unit, after being shot around 4:50 Saturday morning at his Rapid City home.

A female witness told police Kelsey Reavis, 20,  came over to ask for a cigarette, then shot her boyfriend in the head before fleeing on foot.

The indictment charges Reavis with an alternative count alleging the aggravated assault of Brittni Lewis and Christopher Levin.

Reavis is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and minor consuming.

He faces 25 years in prison if convicted of attempted murder, and 15 years in prison for each count of aggravated assault.

Prosecutors say Reavis has a history of domestic abuse and assault.
