Despite bad weather, Sheridan group plants tree at new school

Posted:

The cold, wind and rain weren't enough to stop a Sheridan group from getting their hands dirty for Arbor Day.

Tree Board chairman Scott Hininger brought together city leaders and students to plant at a tree at the new Meadowlark Elementary School.

The students took a tour of their new building while volunteers put the honey locust tree in its new home.

The sapling is the first of 90 or so trees that will be planted at the new school.
