Grand jury indicts Wyoming man for officer shooting

A Pennington County grand jury has indicted a Wyoming man on multiple felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder and assault .
 
James Baker, 41, is accused of leading police on a high speed chase on Jan. 10.  It ended when police deployed road spikes at an interstate on-ramp at Rapid City.

Baker is accused of firing at two police officers and a highway patrol trooper before he hit by three bullets. He was wanted for a parole violation out of Campbell County, Wyoming when he was captured in Rapid City.
 
If convicted on all counts, Baker faces a maximum prison term of 224 years.
