A new KOTA Territory store promotes the feel of an indoor farmer's market while selling fresh foods and supporting local producers.
Starting as a commercial dairy near Belle Fourche, Black Hills Milk just moved into the Heritage Nursery Building on the corner of West Chicago Street and Sturgis Road in Rapid City.
They carry as much local produce as the weather allows, as well as producing unpasteurized milk and raising beef.
They also sell pork, eggs, and cheese from local farms, and other things like honey and soap.
Managers say there are reasons they sell fresh, local foods.
"For us, part of it is the health benefit, that's a big thing for us. And the other part is we want to support as many local growers as we can. Local producers and keep the money here in this community," said Londa Weber, store manager.
Black Hills Milk operates Tuesday through Saturday at the Rapid City location.
