Human remains found off Iron Mountain Road in the Black Hills in March have been identified as a 61-year-old Keystone-area man.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office says reports from a crime lab in Texas show the remains are consistent with those of Michael Berry.  The lab identified the remains using DNA from a Berry's half sister.

The Texas lab report indicated there was no trauma at the time of death and the "condition of the remains are also consistent with the comparable time period that Michael Berry went missing," according to a sheriff's department news release.

The sheriff's department has  closed its investigation.
