Uninsured drivers

The number of uninsured drivers is in the news again.

Despite laws in essentially every state requiring car insurance, one in seven drivers across the country has no insurance.  That's 13.8% of drivers who are uninsured.  The number has increased and will likely continue to increase because of our challenging economic climate.

The percentage of uninsured drivers varies by state.  A Google search will tell you all about whatever state you are interested in.

So, not only should you drive defensively, you should also purchase insurance coverage defensively – to insure what's important to you.

Make sure you have adequate uninsured and underinsured coverage through your own insurance company.  It's relatively inexpensive – clearly the smart thing to do.

The media is trying to tell us all something – everyone of us needs to protect ourselves from the uninsured drivers of the world.

Call your insurance agent – do it today!  This is important.
