KOTA Care & Share food drive raises thousand to feed the hungry

Posted:

Drivers lined up ...bumper to bumper on Rapid City's Saint Joseph street to feed the hungry, and to be fed themselves.

As part of the kick-off to the 27th Annual KOTA Territory Care and Share Food Drive, bagels, coffee and Pepsi products were traded for cash or food donations.

The food drive aims to raise $77,000 in cash all of which will be used to buy food for local food pantries.

Black Hills Bagels owner Jack Jensen donated more than 1,800 bagels to the event, and he says it's a cause that's more and more relevant each year.

The preliminary cash count was 8,193. That's $838.84 more than last year.
