1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 c chopped green bell pepper
3 large tomatoes, diced (or 1 can diced tomatoes, drained)
1/2 c chopped onions
1/2 tsp dried oregano, crushed
1 c shredded Italian blend cheese
1 TB cornmeal
1 pkg (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza crust dough, or homemade pizza dough of your choosing
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Brown ground beef, onion and green pepper in a large skillet over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes until beef is no longer pink and beef is crumbly. Pour off drippings. Stir in tomatoes and oregano; continue cooking 5-7 minutes until all liquid has evaporated. Remove from heat and stir in cheese, set aside.
Sprinkle cornmeal evenly over rimmed baking sheet. Unroll pizza dough lengthwise on baking sheet. Spoon beef filling over long half of dough, leaving about 1 inch border on 3 sides. Lift and pull top half of dough over filling and pinch to seal edges. A fork also works well to seal edges.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cool 5 minutes. Cut crosswise into 6 pieces.
