300 Ellsworth airmen return from overseas deployment

Posted:

300 hundred Ellsworth AFB airmen returned home last night after a six-month deployment to southwest Asia.  They were greeted by family and friends waving flags and carrying homemade welcome signs.

Many couldn't get off the plane soon enough, including 37th maintenance Superintendent Gregory Todd who has not seen his child since he was an infant.  "I just want to go home and see my nine-month-old baby. I saw him before I left, and now I want to see him crawling around on the floor at home."

The base says the deployed airmen obtained approximately 7,000 flying hours and had a mission success rate of 99%.
