It's almost time to start those spring painting projects. These two hints were sent in by readers/viewers.
SAVE YOUR PAINT
When you've finished your painting project, put the lid back on the can and tap it down with a hammer, then FLIP THE CAN upside down to store it. The air pocket will hold the paint against the seal and not let any more air in. This preserves the paint and prevents that 'skin' from forming as paint dries out.
PAINT SOCK
When repainting that piece of farm machinery there are bound to be places where a brush or paint sprayer just won't do, like on the backs of pipes or rods.
Put an old bread sack on your hand and then pull an old sock over the sack. Dip the end of the sock in the paint, and using your fingers, spread the paint where you wish it to go.
When done, fold the sack over the sock, pull it off of your arm and discard the whole works in the trash.
