When it's cold, many times the car/pickup won't start... sometimes it's the battery connections and there is an easy way to fix this problem.          

It's easy to clean corroded battery posts and the cable connectors with a paste made from three parts baking soda from the kitchen cupboard and one part water. 
 
Mix well, apply to the posts and connectors with an old brush.  Let set a while, then use an old toothbrush to knock off the loosened corrosion. 
 
Use a dry rag to clean up the posts and connectors and then coat with some cheap petroleum jelly for further protection.
