Tire failure is being investigated as the contributing factor in a crash that claimed the life of 23-year-old Rosie E. Kline of Gillette, Wyo., on Monday afternoon, Aug. 25.
The crash was on WY 259, about 15 miles south of Midwest.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Kline's left front tire on her pickup failed and separated, pulling the truck into oncoming traffic where she sideswiped a semi truck.
Kline, who troopers say was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from her pickup and killed.
The semi truck driver, 29-year-old Daniel Simmons of Gillette, was not injured.
This is the second tire failure crash in Wyoming this month.
Thomas Iden, 37, Waterford, Mich., was killed in a single vehicle rollover crash Aug. 12 east of Buffalo. Troopers say tire failure was a contributing factor. Iden also was not wearing a seatbelt.
