MINATARE, Neb.- Some locals are spending their three day weekend away from town and out at the lake.
Lake Minatare state recreation area is buzzing with campers this holiday weekend.
Although Park Superintendent Dan Thorton says this weekend isn’t quite as busy as other summer holidays.
"Labor Day is never as busy as Fourth of July of Memorial Day, people have other things going on, school starting, that type of thing. But we got a good crowd."
Thorton says there are still plenty of primitive and electric camping spots available, if people do decide to head out to the lake for the rest of the weekend.
