CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Democratic Party won't field candidates in two statewide races in November. Officials say Casper councilman Keith Goodenough got enough write-in votes in the primary to become the nominee for state auditor and Casper insurance agent Worth Christie could run for state treasurer. But officials say neither Goodenough or Christie accepted the board's invitation to file as candidates.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Oil and gas representatives are voicing criticism about the first proposed changes to Wyoming's oil and gas leasing contract in nearly three decades. The Office of State Lands and Investments has proposed rewriting almost the entire standard oil and gas leasing contract.
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming has received the largest estate gift in its history. The gift includes her financial and land holdings save for those going to her children and a select few personal donations.
HELENA, Mont. (AP) - A federal magistrate is recommending dismissal of a lawsuit filed by Wyoming and seven other states seeking freedom from federal gun laws. The recommendation now goes to the federal judge hearing the case. The states argue they should decide which rules would control the sale and purchase of guns and paraphernalia made inside their borders.
