Bids for the reconstruction of Central High School could be awarded as early as mid–April, meaning construction could start before the end of that month.
Architects are making final changes to the plan.
The first phase includes 19 classrooms for a ninth grade pod, 8 classrooms for a science wing, and a physical education area.
The school board approved $28,000 for the first phase.
They have not estimated the cost for the final phase, which includes a fine arts facility.
Now teachers and students need to prepare for parking issues, football players being displaced and certain entrances being blocked during construction.
