SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Police say a 17-year-old Sioux Falls boy was arrested after he shot his mom in the back with a homemade arrow from a makeshift bow.
Police spokesman Sam Clemens say the two got into an argument Tuesday evening.
The boy used a fishing pole and a shoelace to make a rudimentary bow, then fashioned an arrow out of sharpened plastic rod.
Clemens says the mother ended up with a small cut on her back.
She called police for help, and officers took the boy to the Juvenile Detention Center.
